Privacy Policy
Overview
Meant (“we”) builds a real-time matchmaking app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, email us at support@meant.co and we’ll explain.
Information we collect
Account details you provide, like your name, birthday, and email, let us create and secure your profile. Profile content you add, like photos and interests, helps us pair you with people you’d actually want to meet.
Location is GPS-derived and used only to find nearby matches. You can’t set a city manually, and we don’t build a long-term map of where you go. We also collect basic usage data needed to run matching reliably.
How we use it
We use your information to build your profile, pair you with people in real time, keep the service safe, and improve how matching works. Location data powers nearby matching and nothing more.
We do not sell your personal data. We never show one user another user’s contact details, and we don’t use your private messages for advertising.
Your choices
You control what goes on your profile and can edit or remove it any time. Location access can be turned off in your device settings, though matching depends on it to find nearby people.
You can delete your account from inside the app (Settings → Account). To request a copy of your data, email support@meant.co and we’ll handle it personally.
Data retention
We keep your information only as long as your account is active and you’re using the service. When you delete your account, deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no recovery window.
Your personal data is removed from our active systems, except where the law requires us to retain a limited record.
